This agreement is made for our mutual benefit to protect you as well as ourselves:
Seller warrants that Dog is in good health for 5 days after delivery to Buyer. If Dog is discovered not to be in good health by Buyer within 5 days after receiving Dog, and attested to in writing to seller by an independent licensed veterinarian, Seller shall provide Buyer, upon sole Seller discretion, one of the three solutions: either 1. Refund for puppy or 2. Exchange (Reimbursement or exchange is limited only to the purchase price, not including shipping.
Buyer is responsible for sending Dog back before any refund or exchange shall be issued) if it is severely life threatening or life altering. OR, 3. Buyer retains the dog and Seller pays the vet bill for treatment plan only to the Buyer if it is something like ear mites, cough, or some illness or situation that can be treated effectively and will not alter the Dog’s life extensively. You need to let me know immediately if you notice any signs of illness by email or phone call. If we are not notified within 5 days, then this 5 day health guarantee is unenforceable even if Dog had an illness immediately after receiving. We need to know immediately if something is abnormal. However, if Dog is exposed to an infectious disease after it leaves here and you knowingly bring Dog to somewhere where there is an illness, or if contact is made between Dog and another ill dog, this is not covered under the health guarantee.
At the date of sale, the Puppy is free to our knowledge and is apparently free of illness or signs of congenital defects, unless otherwise clearly stated to Buyer.
Seller warrants that Dog has received appropriate medical care to our knowledge, including shots and worming as of the date of this Agreement.
Seller guarantees the Puppy against life-threatening congenital defects until Puppy is 2 years old. This is a limited guarantee and the Seller must be notified immediately if a congenital defect is first detected. This guarantee is unenforceable after the puppy passes the age of two (2). This warranty will be also be terminated should the dog be allowed to become overweight or developing joints be overstressed at any point during the warranty period. If a claim for a life-threatening or severe life altering congenital defect is made, written verification on letterhead from a qualified, licensed veterinarian must be provided to Seller with a description of the puppy's congenital defect and their opinion as to seriousness of the defect. In this event, under Seller’s discretion, refund for the puppy or exchange will be given if it is a severe life altering/functioning situation. Buyer is solely responsible for any and all delivery and/or shipping related expenses. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL SELLER BE OBLIGATED TO BUYER FOR ANY SURGERIES, X-RAYS, FUTURE ILLNESSES (unless it concurs with the above), OR DELIVERY/SHIPPING EXPENSES.
Seller warrants that said Dog should be free of crippling hip and elbow dysphasia to the age of two. If a preliminary x-ray or an OFA x-ray is done and the vet feels that the hips or elbows are of congenital crippling nature and it will not be able to function as a normal dog, then upon Seller’s discretion, a refund or exchange will be given to Buyer for puppy.
A statement below:
We do not know for sure that your puppy will never develop any health problems (NO breeder can know for sure), just like a pediatrician cannot guarantee that a child will never develop any health problems as it grows. Some things are simply not able to be predicted. The parents are free to our knowledge of diseases, disorders, and major health problems or we would not breed them. That means the puppies are less likely to develop problems. However, it doesn't absolutely guarantee that we can know for sure that they will never develop a health issue, that is why we place this “guarantee” or “warranty” on our puppies, is to protect you and us so there are no misunderstandings in the chance that something should possibly happen.
Most of all, we truly desire to be reasonable and fair in our above health agreement. We sincerely desire to treat others how we would like to be treated, in all situations, as if we were the ones who adopted a puppy, and we also take our reputation very seriously. We hope that adopting a Greater Swiss will be a pleasurable experience for you, and that you will have a lifelong friend!
